
Based on its involvement with human rights, the Sol del Illimani-Culturas del Sur Foundation organized a reflective day, with the participation of the women of the foundation's team, along with the members in Chile of the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research.
The institution convening the meeting made a presentation on gender perspectives in the workplace, recognizing the relevance of good practices, both in this sense and in other aspects of inclusion and non-discrimination, to guarantee the development of people in and from this vital dimension.
In this area, agreements were made regarding the unrestricted commitment to non-discrimination, whether based on gender, race, age, class, among others, as well as the construction of equal work teams. Regarding the relevance of language to create realities, both teams committed to applying an editing manual, in line with the policies of inclusion and non-discrimination, to promote the visibility of diverse identities through written and verbal language.
Regarding popular education, one of the main lines of work of the Sol del Illimani Foundation – Cultures of the South, the importance of making proposals that transversally integrate the gender perspective and the principles of inclusion and non-discrimination was highlighted. as an underlying ethical principle in the development of all its projects.
The meeting also had a gesture of commitment to the Palestinian cause, mainly to the women and girls who are suffering as a result of the genocide.
Finally, the importance of community ties, collective and care work, and cooperation as an articulating axis and enabler of the contribution that women make to society was highlighted. From this responsibility, it was agreed to generate other instances during the year to follow up on these agreements, integrating them into the agenda of both institutions, beyond the date and commemorative month of women.
