El proyecto Escuela Popular del Sur es una iniciativa educativa y cultural que se inspira en la tradición de pedagogías populares que conciben la transmisión de saberes como el pilar fundamental para democratizar el conocimiento. Desde el punto de vista formativo, en la Escuela Popular del Sur reivindicamos y hacemos nuestra la tradición cultural y musical latinoamericana del grupo musical Inti Illimani, con más de 50 años de experiencia musical, junto con la experiencia educativa y de asesoría artística que realizan los integrantes del grupo en el Colegio Artístico Sol del Illimani.
We understand that we are all bearers of culture. From inherited ancestral cultures to others we have acquired in the course of our lives. At the Escuela Popular del Sur, we believe that learning is not a one-way street between those who possess knowledge and those who do not. Instead, we strive for an egalitarian exchange where everyone, regardless of their background, can share and make their knowledge available through transversal communication. Our motivation is driven by curiosity and the objective of mutually enriching each other.
At the Escuela Popular del Sur, we aim to preserve the beauty and wisdom that have been passed down through generations in life stories. Our goal is to encourage connection and communication with the poetic traditions of the diverse and rich cultures of the southern hemisphere. We recognize the multiplicity of the south, which is abundant in knowledge, arts, and cultures.
This is a place where we can be ourselves, become better, and learn from others' experiences. We want to be the catalyst for a creative revolution in music, theater, poetry, graphics, and all forms of art, and we want you to be a part of it.
