The Sol del Illimani Foundation – Culturas del Sur, in alliance with the Municipality of Recoleta, present the first course of the Popular School of the South: Musical interpretation and sound identity in Inti Illimani. The course will be developed through the Open University of Recoleta and will be taught by all members of the Inti Illimani group. 

The course proposes to make known from the first source the experience and exploration with the instruments that constitute the musical proposal and the group's sound identity, forged in more than fifty years of experience dedicated to popular and roots music, with influences from all over the world. world. 

The course will be held during eight sessions in which Inti Illimani musicians will present and perform live examples of the use and sound exploration of a particular instrument or family of instruments, from their experience at Inti Illimani. Plucked string instruments, bowed string instruments, reed winds, brass winds, woodwinds and percussion will be covered. 

Musical interpretation and sound identity in Inti Illimani It will be held in person, during eight sessions, between April 17 and June 5, on Wednesdays, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Recoleta Cultural Corporation. The requirements to participate are: being over 15 years old (no age limit), listening ability and interest in musical appreciation and playing a string, wind or percussion instrument. It is not necessary to have an advanced level.
